POLICE RECRUIT
CITY OF PEORIA, ILLINOIS
The City of Peoria will conduct an examination process to recruit candidates for placement into the 2004 Police Recruit Eligibility Pool for the City of Peoria. Persons who are currently in the eligibility pool may re-test and must re-apply. SALARY: $37,858.30/yr
REQUIREMENTS: 21 years old by date of written examination, or 20 years old, if successfully completed 2 years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college. Cannot have attained age 36 by date of entrance into Eligibility Pool. (By State statute, exceptions made for individuals with prior municipal police experience. Graduation from High School or GED equivalency accepted. Prefer candidates with Associate’s Degree or hours toward Bachelor’s Degree. U.S. Citizenship; valid driver’s license; physical condition to perform the essential functions of the position and pass physical agility exam; no felony convictions; must meet minimum standards for vision and hearing and cannot be color-blind. If hired, must establish permanent residency within the City limits within one year of hire.
Voluntary Orientations: 1/10/04 & 1/15/04
Voluntary Practice Physical Agility Exam: 1/21/04 & 1/22/04
Mandatory Written Exam: 1/23/04
Mandatory Physical Agility Exam: 1/23/04 & 1/24/03
Application Deadline: 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2003
Application Must Include: copy of the applicant’s certified birth certificate, (copy of registered certificate from county of birth, not hospital copy with footprints), copy of driver’s license, copy of high school diploma or GED certificate; may include copies of applicable transcripts or degrees & DD214.
