The City of West Chicago Civil Service Commission has the responsibility for the selection of all police officers.  To be considered for employment, candidates must meet the following requirements:

·        High School diploma or equivalent

·        Must be a minimum of 21 years of age at the time of the written test, and maximum of 35 years of age to be placed on the eligibility list, unless previously employed as a full time police officer in a municipal department.

·        Possess a valid drivers license

·        Must be a United States Citizen

·        Pass all phases of testing

·        Be of good moral character and meet all the requirements of the City of West Chicago Civil Service Commission, and the State of Illinois
